Andy Walmsley

Global Orion Award Recipient

The Global Service Excellence Society is proud to present the Global Orion Award to Andy Walmsley, an Emmy Award-winning theatrical and television set designer whose career spans more than 40 years.

Andy has created spectacular sets for leading television programs, live productions, concerts, and special events. His extensive credits include American Idol, America’s Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, MTV Movie Awards, Miss USA, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, The Royal Variety Performance, Sunday Night at the London Palladium, The Muppets at the Hollywood Bowl, Tournament of Kings, Mary Poppins, The Cher Show, and many more.

His passion for design began at age 13, when he worked as a circus ring boy and assisted legendary clown Charlie Cairoli. Surrounded by posters, props, costumes, and decorations, Andy recognized that every element of the circus offered an opportunity for creative expression. He soon realized that he wanted to devote his life to designing for show business.

At 15, he reached another early milestone by working on the BBC’s The Paul Daniels Magic Show. From these beginnings, Andy developed into one of the entertainment industry’s most respected and influential production designers.

The Global Service Excellence Society congratulates Andy Walmsley on a career defined by extraordinary vision, creativity, determination, and persistence—and on a lifetime of transforming imagination into unforgettable entertainment.
